Fabio FARINELLA

Fabio’s academic education grounds on engineering programs at the University of Catania in Sicily, Italy. He completed a bachelor's degree in Computer engineering and later a master's degree in Automation Engineering and Control of Complex Systems focusing on robotics, autonomous vehicles, artificial intelligence and machine learning. He gained professional experience in global companies from different industries. 

Formerly, he was part of the university team for the Mohamed Bin Zayed International Robotics Challenge (MBZIRC) in Abu Dhabi whose goal was to design and develop an autonomous flying drone capable of landing on a moving vehicle, the team scored 4th worldwide. 

Then, Fabio was involved in automotive projects such as Ferrari SF90 Stradale in the supply chain of Ferrari as Project Engineer employed in MTA, in Italy for the new generation cluster development. Later, Fabio joined McLaren Automotive, in the UK, as Research, Controls and Project Engineer for Domain Controllers software development and ADAS project engineering and management within McLaren Artura and future programs. 

In 2023, Fabio started his career in McLaren Applied, mainly involved in F1 Standard ECU software development. McLaren Applied is a world leader in electronic control systems, electrification, connectivity and analytics founded in 1988. It focuses on Motorsport, Automotive, Transport and Mining sectors and it is a key supplier of Formula 1. It is having a significant impact in the electrification sector.

His passion-DNA includes motors, engineering, science and music. He nurtures interests in environment, communication, business and work. During these years of experience, he has been invited to several conferences as a speaker to promote technologies and share his experiences.
