Cyber threats are increasing rapidly as the number of connected vehicles grows. Conventional security measures cannot advance and deploy quickly enough to handle the growing number of threats. Most vulnerabilities in vehicles today are unknown until an attack happens. Cybersecurity measures, using rules, logic and signatures are required but cannot detect unknown threats, leaving OEMs, Fleets and customers vulnerable to zero-day attacks and causing financial and safety risks. The need to protect against unknown threats opens a new chapter in cybersecurity and anomaly detection - solutions that combine deterministic security measures to protect against know threats with zero false-positive performance with an Artificial Intelligence (AI) profiling and anomaly detection technology to provide future proof security against unknown threats. The AI anomaly detection engine establishes a baseline of the vehicle’s normal behavior and identify anomalies to uncover unknown vulnerabilities and malfunctions. In this session we will also show examples of cyberattacks detection using AI technology that cannot be detected using conventional security measures. We will also show how enabling economic big data analysis for anomaly detection in the cloud, requires an advanced data optimization and compression software that can be implemented using Machine Learning technology.

There are popular L1 features on the market today like ACC, and LKA, which adjusts vehicle speed according to traffic on the road, and which help drivers stay within their lanes. Current implementations are getting increasingly sophisticated; however, they continue to experience issues like handling sharp curves (e.g. staying within the lane), mixing up lead cars to follow etc. Part of the limitations of the current features stem from the fact that they are developed as independent features that work separately, although they can be turned on to work at the same time. Eatron has taken a different approach to develop a SW framework to support multiple ADAS features and to serve as a baseline for L2+ ADAS functionality called L2 star. L2 Star utilizes all the available sensors and builds a model of the surroundings of the vehicle (other vehicles, lanes etc.). For all features, the baseline is this environment model. The control functionality is also shared, and the framework utilizes a MIMO control framework where both lateral and longitudinal control signals are calculated taking into account respective constraints. Individual features can still be turned off, but the core control framework will continue to run and still take into account all constraints to offer an enhanced driver experience. We will present the main framework and our motivations when developing this framework, as well as our simulation-based approach to developing and validating this SW architecture.

Thanks to the experience gained during these last years, Demak will present the many advantages of a full encapsulation compared to other insulation methods such as impregnation and trickling technologies. The resin it’s a perfect electrical insulator and it gives properties absolutely incomparable with other insulating methods: enhanced water and dust resistance, chemical resistance, less vibrations, less noise but most of all a perfect heat dissipation. Demak, having supplied full automatic lines to OEM and Tier1 suppliers, will discuss the encapsulating process through the analysis of an automatic line and with the use of a specific resin system specially developed for electrical traction motors. The use of Continuous Vacuum Technology is crucial in Demak equipment and processes, in order to guarantee the best impregnation without any bubble or voids into the final product. The Demak Full Automatic Line it’s not only made for huge production numbers but for precision and improved casting processes too. Demak Group has two hearts: mechanical and chemical, in this way we provide 360° support and complete custom processes.
